Estudio Tierra is an architecture and landscaping studio with a focus on ecological and socially responsible design. Established in 2024, the firm has been involved in ecological building since 2020. Based in Mexico and the Netherlands, crossover is a key word in our design strategy. In our projects we connect not only different backgrounds, but also design scales, and specialisms in order to create places that reflect and strengthen the vibrant complexity and beauty of the natural world.

Meet the team

We are a multidisciplinary team of architects with international training

and a shared vision: to design spaces that connect with their surroundings,

are functional, and reflect the essence of the people who inhabit them.

Ivanna López

An architect and landscape designer educated at ITESO (Guadalajara, 2016–2021), she enriched her studies through an academic exchange at Fontys in the Netherlands. Her approach blends aesthetic sensitivity with a deep respect for the natural environment, bringing a holistic perspective to every project.

Teun Van Knegsel

An architect with a background in architecture, urbanism, and building sciences (2015–2018), he studied abroad at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and completed a Master’s in Architecture at TU Delft (Netherlands, 2018–2021). His work focuses on developing innovative and passive building solutions as well as to create spaces where different building scales and functional areas meet.

At Estudio Tierra, we believe that architecture is born from the ground we walk on and the sky we look up to. We are a Mexican-Dutch team dedicated to architectural and landscape design with an ecological approach. We are inspired by the identity of each place, regional materials, and solutions that engage in dialogue with their surroundings. We believe in architecture as a tool to regenerate, to inhabit consciously, and to build a future rooted in the local.
